Caught in the middle

The book was good. I couldn’t put it down. Finished it in a day. I loved the beginning and middle, but towards the end something felt off. Maybe because I felt like Arwen wasn’t as strong in the end. I hate that Maverick looked at her like she owed him sex for payment in exchange for his protection. You can’t help but think Mavericks a pig, but still love his character as the same time. Some parts of the book I thought she was better off without him, but then he reels Arwen and the reader right back in. Idk. I love books that empower women. Not make them feel vulnerable and weak. I’m giving this book 4 stars because it kept me from putting it down. Now onto the next one in this series!

This is my first time reading from this author and I have to say this book was very different from what I expected.. it was pretty interested and kept me entertained all day as I went through the pages and my daily life. I’m not what I think is missing from this story but something definitely felt like it was missing when I ended the book. I will read the next one because I am curious what will happen and I have high hopes I won’t feel like there’s a piece missing anymore.

But so good! Penelope has kept things the same in some ways but also turned the plot to this story different from everything else she’s written thus far. I’m proud of the diversity and am loving the way the story is building. It’s a slower burning build up to its eventual finale and not rushed whatsoever. I’m loving the way things are going with Maverick and Arwen. She doesn’t give up easily and Mavericks defenses also don’t go down easily either. I can’t wait to read more...

Entertaining but..

I’ve read all of Penelope’s books and loved most of them. This one lacked a lot of the passion and violence of her other books which i missed. This was more of a YA version of Sky’s Books. A traditional love story of “i dont want anything serious” turned head over heels. I wouldnt say it was boring, cuz i didnt stop reading it but it wasn’t as captivating as most of her books.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when it came to this book I thought it would be a story like the others but right from the beginning it was different (in the best way). I immediately felt connected to the characters because I actually had stuff in common with them. Maverick maverick maverick 🖤 I adore his heart although it’s a little black there’s still room for light I wish he saw that. I hope Arwen is able to save him from himself just as he’s saving her from all of the dangers in the world. I can’t wait to read the next book. Best series yet 👏🏽 !

What did I just read?

This book was horrible. Juvenile. Tactless. The main characters were a joke. The dialogue was so so so dumb. Plot line was predictable with a million holes. The sex was weak and I literally rolled my eyes at the things they said to each other. The book was primarily describing the condition of his facial hair and the way clothes fit the main character’s bodies. You should be paid to read this book.

Even though this story differs from the rest of her books it’s still amazing I can’t believe how much Caspian hates his son to even think he wants to kill him I really hope He comes to senses before it’s too late!! Not loving it

I have to start by saying I finished the book and it held my attention the entire time. However, the story began and ended at the same point. It felt as the characters made no progression in the forward direction. The main female character starts off stubborn and strong willed and ends the same way. The only character development is that she manages to debase herself along the way. The story remains very one dimensional, with it being hard to imagine the details in your mind’s eyes. At times the writing style seemed very juvenile. It was hard to decipher what time period the story took place in, the details just gave a general gist of around current times but I could be wrong. Maybe the author did this all as a very slow set up for her second book and that one will finally progress the plot forward.

Maverick & Arwen are both at the mercy of their fathers. It appears that the children do pay for the father’s sins after all. They both are backed into a corner when it comes to this marriage. Maverick wants the name of the man who tortured and killed his mother and Arwen’s father has the name but owe money to powerful people. Arwen and Maverick start off living as nothing more than roommates with rings included but as I had hoped jealousy and want takes over but sometimes it isn’t enough. Maverick is a good man deep down but he would never admit it. I devoured this book in a few hours and it’s left me at a loss to what to read next because this book has consumed my thoughts. I can’t wait for the next in the series!

I love how this book differs from the other series by Penelope Sky has written in the sense of family. The barsettis loved each other and were loyal to one another to a fault and this book is completely opposite. You get to watch a slow relationship build between a forced marriage and watch how a fire is lit between the two. You see love, hatred, and empathy and I cannot wait to see how book two turns out.

I love Arwen and Maverick, and Their story keeps getting more and more interesting. The stakes keep raising and I don't know how Penelope does it but every single one of her novels gets better than the last, even when I think it's impossible! Can't wait for the next one! Also: love the subtle nod at the Barsetti's. They'll always be my favorite and I love that Penelope finds ways for them to be a cameo in her books!

The book was good. I couldn’t put it down. Finished it in a day. I loved the beginning and middle, but towards the end something felt off. Maybe because I felt like Arwen wasn’t as strong in the end. I hate that Maverick looked at her like she owed him sex for payment in exchange for his protection. You can’t help but think Mavericks a pig, but still love his character as the same time. Some parts of the book I thought she was better off without him, but then he reels Arwen and the reader right back in. Idk. I love books that empower women. Not make them feel vulnerable and weak. I’m giving this book 4 stars because it kept me from putting it down. Now onto the next one in this series!

I’ve read all of Penelope’s books and loved most of them. This one lacked a lot of the passion and violence of her other books which i missed. This was more of a YA version of Sky’s Books. A traditional love story of “i dont want anything serious” turned head over heels. I wouldnt say it was boring, cuz i didnt stop reading it but it wasn’t as captivating as most of her books.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when it came to this book I thought it would be a story like the others but right from the beginning it was different (in the best way). I immediately felt connected to the characters because I actually had stuff in common with them. Maverick maverick maverick 🖤 I adore his heart although it’s a little black there’s still room for light I wish he saw that. I hope Arwen is able to save him from himself just as he’s saving her from all of the dangers in the world. I can’t wait to read the next book. Best series yet 👏🏽 !

This book was horrible. Juvenile. Tactless. The main characters were a joke. The dialogue was so so so dumb. Plot line was predictable with a million holes. The sex was weak and I literally rolled my eyes at the things they said to each other. The book was primarily describing the condition of his facial hair and the way clothes fit the main character’s bodies. You should be paid to read this book.

Not loving it

I have to start by saying I finished the book and it held my attention the entire time. However, the story began and ended at the same point. It felt as the characters made no progression in the forward direction. The main female character starts off stubborn and strong willed and ends the same way. The only character development is that she manages to debase herself along the way. The story remains very one dimensional, with it being hard to imagine the details in your mind’s eyes. At times the writing style seemed very juvenile. It was hard to decipher what time period the story took place in, the details just gave a general gist of around current times but I could be wrong. Maybe the author did this all as a very slow set up for her second book and that one will finally progress the plot forward.

Maverick & Arwen are both at the mercy of their fathers. It appears that the children do pay for the father’s sins after all. They both are backed into a corner when it comes to this marriage. Maverick wants the name of the man who tortured and killed his mother and Arwen’s father has the name but owe money to powerful people. Arwen and Maverick start off living as nothing more than roommates with rings included but as I had hoped jealousy and want takes over but sometimes it isn’t enough. Maverick is a good man deep down but he would never admit it. I devoured this book in a few hours and it’s left me at a loss to what to read next because this book has consumed my thoughts. I can’t wait for the next in the series!

I love how this book differs from the other series by Penelope Sky has written in the sense of family. The barsettis loved each other and were loyal to one another to a fault and this book is completely opposite. You get to watch a slow relationship build between a forced marriage and watch how a fire is lit between the two. You see love, hatred, and empathy and I cannot wait to see how book two turns out.

The book was good. I couldn’t put it down. Finished it in a day. I loved the beginning and middle, but towards the end something felt off. Maybe because I felt like Arwen wasn’t as strong in the end. I hate that Maverick looked at her like she owed him sex for payment in exchange for his protection. You can’t help but think Mavericks a pig, but still love his character as the same time. Some parts of the book I thought she was better off without him, but then he reels Arwen and the reader right back in. Idk. I love books that empower women. Not make them feel vulnerable and weak. I’m giving this book 4 stars because it kept me from putting it down. Now onto the next one in this series!

I’m proud of the diversity and am loving the way the story is building. It’s a slower burning build up to its eventual finale and not rushed whatsoever. I’m loving the way things are going with Maverick and Arwen. She doesn’t give up easily and Mavericks defenses also don’t go down easily either. I can’t wait to read more...

I’ve read all of Penelope’s books and loved most of them. This one lacked a lot of the passion and violence of her other books which i missed. This was more of a YA version of Sky’s Books. A traditional love story of “i dont want anything serious” turned head over heels. I wouldnt say it was boring, cuz i didnt stop reading it but it wasn’t as captivating as most of her books.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when it came to this book I thought it would be a story like the others but right from the beginning it was different (in the best way). I immediately felt connected to the characters because I actually had stuff in common with them. Maverick maverick maverick 🖤 I adore his heart although it’s a little black there’s still room for light I wish he saw that. I hope Arwen is able to save him from himself just as he’s saving her from all of the dangers in the world. I can’t wait to read the next book. Best series yet 👏🏽 !

This book was horrible. Juvenile. Tactless. The main characters were a joke. The dialogue was so so so dumb. Plot line was predictable with a million holes. The sex was weak and I literally rolled my eyes at the things they said to each other. The book was primarily describing the condition of his facial hair and the way clothes fit the main character’s bodies. You should be paid to read this book.

Not loving it

I have to start by saying I finished the book and it held my attention the entire time. However, the story began and ended at the same point. It felt as the characters made no progression in the forward direction. The main female character starts off stubborn and strong willed and ends the same way. The only character development is that she manages to debase herself along the way. The story remains very one dimensional, with it being hard to imagine the details in your mind’s eyes. At times the writing style seemed very juvenile. It was hard to decipher what time period the story took place in, the details just gave a general gist of around current times but I could be wrong. Maybe the author did this all as a very slow set up for her second book and that one will finally progress the plot forward.

Maverick & Arwen are both at the mercy of their fathers. It appears that the children do pay for the father’s sins after all. They both are backed into a corner when it comes to this marriage. Maverick wants the name of the man who tortured and killed his mother and Arwen’s father has the name but owe money to powerful people. Arwen and Maverick start off living as nothing more than roommates with rings included but as I had hoped jealousy and want takes over but sometimes it isn’t enough. Maverick is a good man deep down but he would never admit it. I devoured this book in a few hours and it’s left me at a loss to what to read next because this book has consumed my thoughts. I can’t wait for the next in the series!

The barsettis loved each other and were loyal to one another to a fault and this book is completely opposite. You get to watch a slow relationship build between a forced marriage and watch how a fire is lit between the two. You see love, hatred, and empathy and I cannot wait to see how book two turns out.

Caught in the middle

The book was good. I couldn’t put it down. Finished it in a day. I loved the beginning and middle, but towards the end something felt off. Maybe because I felt like Arwen wasn’t as strong in the end. I hate that Maverick looked at her like she owed him sex for payment in exchange for his protection. You can’t help but think Mavericks a pig, but still love his character as the same time. Some parts of the book I thought she was better off without him, but then he reels Arwen and the reader right back in. Idk. I love books that empower women. Not make them feel vulnerable and weak. I’m giving this book 4 stars because it kept me from putting it down. Now onto the next one in this series!

Very different

This is my first time reading from this author and I have to say this book was very different from what I expected.. it was pretty interested and kept me entertained all day as I went through the pages and my daily life. I’m not what I think is missing from this story but something definitely felt like it was missing when I ended the book. I will read the next one because I am curious what will happen and I have high hopes I won’t feel like there’s a piece missing anymore.

Great Series

Although Penelope Sky brings elements of previous series to each new one she writes somehow they continue to surprise and engage the reader. Looking forward to Book Three.

Something different...

But so good! Penelope has kept things the same in some ways but also turned the plot to this story different from everything else she’s written thus far. I’m proud of the diversity and am loving the way the story is building. It’s a slower burning build up to its eventual finale and not rushed whatsoever. I’m loving the way things are going with Maverick and Arwen. She doesn’t give up easily and Mavericks defenses also don’t go down easily either. I can’t wait to read more...

Entertaining but..

I’ve read all of Penelope’s books and loved most of them. This one lacked a lot of the passion and violence of her other books which i missed. This was more of a YA version of Sky’s Books. A traditional love story of “i dont want anything serious” turned head over heels. I wouldnt say it was boring, cuz i didnt stop reading it but it wasn’t as captivating as most of her books.

🤯 Wooooow

I wasn’t sure what to expect when it came to this book I thought it would be a story like the others but right from the beginning it was different (in the best way). I immediately felt connected to the characters because I actually had stuff in common with them. Maverick maverick maverick 🖤 I adore his heart although it’s a little black there’s still room for light I wish he saw that. I hope Arwen is able to save him from himself just as he’s saving her from all of the dangers in the world. I can’t wait to read the next book. Best series yet 👏🏽 !

What did I just read?

This book was horrible. Juvenile. Tactless. The main characters were a joke. The dialogue was so so so dumb. Plot line was predictable with a million holes. The sex was weak and I literally rolled my eyes at the things they said to each other. The book was primarily describing the condition of his facial hair and the way clothes fit the main character’s bodies. You should be paid to read this book.

Penelope Sky never fails to write an exciting, page turning, and thrill seeking book. This book is much different than the rest. Two characters held powerless to their father, that dictate their lives. Forced together, these characters hate each other, but start a friendship out of loneliness. But when the one betrays the other, will that friendship last? Overall, this book is like nothing Penelope Sky has written before, and I can’t wait to see what exciting adventure she will take us all on this time.

Penelope Sky Never Disappoints

Let me just start by saying I’ve read all of Penelope Sky’s books and what I will say is she never disappoints. She leaves her reader wanting more; craving the love she illustrates in her characters. I can not wait for the following book to come out!!!!!!!

This is a different style of Penelope’s other series but it’s STILL great! I’m even more happy that she wrote it this way. Its refreshing and still has that same intriguing story that you just get lost in.

I absolutely love each and EVERY BOOOOOOKKKKKKKK that Penelopy has ever written. She has become my all time favorite Arthur and i can not stop rereading each of her books. When i heard she was coming out with this book which is completely different then the other ones i almost cried! This book is amazing and she CAN NOT STOP WRITING EVER 😭😩

Even though this story differs from the rest of her books it’s still amazing I can’t believe how much Caspian hates his son to even think he wants to kill him I really hope He comes to senses before it’s too late!! Maverick and Arwen need to be careful because they have enemies from both sides!!! Thank you Penelope Sky for another read I can’t wait to finish this series

Not loving it

I have to start by saying I finished the book and it held my attention the entire time. However, the story began and ended at the same point. It felt as the characters made no progression in the forward direction. The main female character starts off stubborn and strong willed and ends the same way. The only character development is that she manages to debase herself along the way. The story remains very one dimensional, with it being hard to imagine the details in your mind’s eyes. At times the writing style seemed very juvenile. It was hard to decipher what time period the story took place in, the details just gave a general gist of around current times but I could be wrong. Maybe the author did this all as a very slow set up for her second book and that one will finally progress the plot forward.

I’ve been consumed by the wolf!

Maverick & Arwen are both at the mercy of their fathers. It appears that the children do pay for the father’s sins after all. They both are backed into a corner when it comes to this marriage. Maverick wants the name of the man who tortured and killed his mother and Arwen’s father has the name but owe money to powerful people. Arwen and Maverick start off living as nothing more than roommates with rings included but as I had hoped jealousy and want takes over but sometimes it isn’t enough. Maverick is a good man deep down but he would never admit it. I devoured this book in a few hours and it’s left me at a loss to what to read next because this book has consumed my thoughts. I can’t wait for the next in the series!

Loved it!

I love how this book differs from the other series by Penelope Sky has written in the sense of family. The barsettis loved each other and were loyal to one another to a fault and this book is completely opposite. You get to watch a slow relationship build between a forced marriage and watch how a fire is lit between the two. You see love, hatred, and empathy and I cannot wait to see how book two turns out.

Great read!!!

Wow Penelope Sky has become my favorite author. She is just fantastic. Bought this book yesterday and read it in a couple of hrs. I couldn’t put it down. Great storyline—there is a cliff hanger at the end. Cannot wait for the next book to come out.

I could not put the book down, the story will capture you within the first few lines, and you will be unable to put it down. Well written story and I can’t wait til the next book releases!

* i received a free ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review* I absolutely love this book!!! Probably my new favorite, Penelope NEVER disappoints! I love Arwen and Maverick, and Their story keeps getting more and more interesting. The stakes keep raising and I don't know how Penelope does it but every single one of her novels gets better than the last, even when I think it's impossible! Can't wait for the next one! Also: love the subtle nod at the Barsetti's. They'll always be my favorite and I love that Penelope finds ways for them to be a cameo in her books!
